International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR) and National Centre for Design & Product Development (NCDPD) entered into an MOU in an impressive ceremony during the World Expo and 2010 INBAR Congress on Bamboo and Rattan at Shanghai, China  on 22nd May 2010.  More than 500 International delegates from different countries were present during the ceremony.  INBAR agreed to provide technical support for Bamboo & Cane Development Institute (BCDI), set up in Agartala for transfer of technology, training, global market linkages and other areas.

The MOU was signed by Dr. J Coosje Hoogendoorn, the Director General of INBAR on behalf of INBAR & Sh. R.K.Srivastava, Executive Director, NCDPD on behalf of NCDPD. The MOU was co- signed  by  Mrs.  Alka  Arora,  Addl.  Development

Commissioner (Handicrafts),  Ministry  of   Textiles, Govt.  of  India  and  Sh.  T. P.   Subramony,  Regional Coordinator  (South Asia), INBAR .
